Les Suites la Colline are located atop a hill on Île-à-Vache, which is located off the coast of Les Cayes in Haiti's Sud Department. You must go to the wharf in Les Cayes and then a boat ride will take you to Île-à-Vache. The following paragraphs provide more details on transportation options.

 

The car

 

If you are already in the South, you can use your own car, which can be parked safely near the wharf in Les Cayes. If you are not already in the South, a car is not recommended for safety reasons.

 

The plane

 

Sunrise Airways (sunriseairways.net) offers daily flights between Cap Haïtien and Les Cayes, allowing you to avoid areas of Haiti where there are security concerns.   (Flights between Port-au-Prince and Les Cayes are suspended for security reasons). From international destinations, there are flights to Cap Haïtien from Miami (several airlines), Fort Lauderdale (several airlines), Providenciales (sunriseairways.net), and several other destinations (sunriseairways.net). Once in Les Cayes, we arrange taxi transportation between the Les Cayes airport and the wharf, where a boat will pick you up and take you to Île-à-Vache.

From the wharf in Les Cayes, you'll cross to Île-à-Vache in a typical motorboat, similar to those once used by Jamaican traffickers. Their crossing from Jamaica took about 18 hours, but yours will only last 30 minutes, which is still enough time to enjoy the journey across the turquoise sea.
